Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is a tropical tree in the coffee family native to Southeast Asia. The leaves have been used for medicinal properties by the indigenous people in the region for hundreds of years. It is used for stimulant effects similar to strong coffee at lower doses, and at higher doses it produces sedation, relaxation and promotes feelings of well-being.
