Following the theft of a suitcase containing more than £4,500 worth of valuable items from a train travelling from London to the Cotswolds, British Transport Police have launched a public appeal to help find the thief.
Friday the 13th Theft
The incident occurred on a day known for bad luck. On Friday, the 13th of February, on the 9.32 am service from London Paddington to Kemble in Gloucestershire, the female owner of the suitcase placed it on a luggage rack just before boarding.
She placed the suitcase on the rack at 9:10 am, and a little later, a man who boarded the same service was seen removing it and then heading to another carriage with it. His movements were captured on CCTV, highlighting the importance of this type of surveillance.
