Birds start to migrate in the autumn and many of them can be seen around Snowdonia. The starling murmuration’s at dusk look stunning over the Snowdonia landscape and water birds like the Teal can be seen arriving from more northerly places so they can spend the winter in the lakes of Snowdonia.
Birds of prey can also be seen, such as buzzards and Red Kites, which were once near extinction in the UK.
When it comes to mammals, head to the Isle of Anglesey where you can see the native red squirrels preparing for the winter. The autumn is also the time for the deer rutting, so listen out for bellowing stags – you may even be lucky enough to spot them.
In the river valleys, you may also be able to catch a glimpse of an otter splashing into the water.
